Job Purpose

The assignment focuses on community-level interventions to enhance food security and nutritional well-being, contributing directly to WFP's goal of achieving Zero Hunger by 2030 through equitable and inclusive actions.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the WFP Guatemala Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) Programme Associate, the Community Facilitation and Counseling Officer will: Participate in training on activity objectives, key messages (healthy eating, hygiene, family co-responsibility), and playful methodologies. Register participants according to WFP guidelines. Assist in setting up, organizing, and managing participant flow during activities. Ensure a respectful, inclusive, and safe environment. Facilitate community fair stations or challenges, clearly and engagingly explaining activities. Deliver key messages on healthy eating habits, hygiene practices (handwashing, fruit/vegetable washing), and family co-responsibility in nutrition and health. Address basic family queries or refer them to technical staff when necessary. Participate in feedback sessions with the organizing team. Prepare reports detailing activities conducted, participant numbers, and outcomes.
Work Experience
One month of work experience in community or rural contexts is required. Desirable experience includes nutrition training, particularly as a community nutrition counselor within WFP or similar organizations. Essential skills include the ability to facilitate participatory sessions, good oral and written communication, cultural sensitivity, proactivity, dynamism, creativity, and basic literacy.
