Job Purpose
The Client Engagement Assistant supports the identification, development, and cultivation of partnerships with UN Agencies and Host Entities at the country level. This role is crucial for managing partner relationships, gathering data to identify mobilization opportunities, and ensuring client satisfaction with UN Volunteer services. The primary objective is to facilitate the sustained mobilization of volunteers to designated partners and support the duty of care for serving volunteers, bridging service delivery between centralized functions and on-the-ground needs.
Responsibilities
The Client Engagement Assistant supports partnership development by managing key accounts, maintaining relationships with UN partners, and presenting the UNV value proposition to identify placement opportunities. Responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of assignment descriptions, developing initiatives to meet partner needs, and contributing to advocacy campaigns. The role involves documenting knowledge, acting as a focal point for online volunteers, and collecting/analyzing data for business intelligence to inform strategic mobilization. Additionally, the assistant contributes to a positive volunteer experience by supporting onboarding, providing guidance throughout the volunteer lifecycle, gathering feedback, and organizing appreciation initiatives. The role also includes supporting the duty of care for UN Volunteers, liaising on security matters, assisting with medical evacuations, and providing tailored support to volunteers, especially non-native speakers.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of 3 years of practical and relevant experience in partnership engagement, advocacy, management, or client service. Experience with international or development organizations is an asset. Proficiency in computer use, office software packages, database management, and web-based systems is necessary. Experience with ticket-based service management systems is also considered an asset.
