Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to ensure the implementation of community communication actions, donor visibility, and reputation management in the field. This involves strengthening community dialogue, accountability, and integrating community perspectives into program design and monitoring. The position also contributes to building relationships with local media, coordinating external missions, and applying differentiated approaches, including specific strategies for indigenous populations and persons with disabilities. The role aims to enhance WFP's engagement and impact at the local level.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include ensuring the local implementation of donor visibility plans and providing visibility training to WFP teams and partners. The role involves coordinating and facilitating community communication activities as part of program design, ensuring gender and inclusion approaches, and adapting actions to specific contexts. This includes coordinating differentiated strategies for indigenous populations and persons with disabilities, and facilitating co-creation spaces for communication messages and products. The position will also provide local insights to the central office for strategy development. Capacity building involves continuous training for field teams on programmatic actions and coordinating with community communication staff of implementing partners. Operational monitoring includes tracking community communication activities, participant engagement, and plan fulfillment, in coordination with field implementation. The role supports impact monitoring with the RAM team and participates in specific activities like focus groups. Media relations and reputation management involve monitoring local media, establishing links, and contributing to anticipating reputational risks. Support is also required for the logistical and documentary preparation of communication missions and donor visits, as well as assisting in dialogues with local authorities by preparing reports and key messages.
Work Experience
A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required. This includes experience or knowledge in designing training activities in community settings, leading community dialogue processes, and participating in field activities. Experience working in challenging contexts is essential. Desirable experience includes designing or co-creating community activities, working with indigenous populations, and possessing excellent writing and reporting skills. Strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and knowledge of gender and inclusion are also valued.
