Job Purpose
This role supports the Southern Africa Embrace Foundation's mission by researching and identifying potential grant opportunities that align with the organization's programs and objectives. The volunteer will contribute to securing funding for initiatives focused on gender equality, education, agriculture, and climate change. The primary goal is to compile a comprehensive list of relevant grants, including their deadlines, amounts, eligibility criteria, and contact information, to aid the foundation in its fundraising efforts. This research is crucial for advancing the organization's work in empowering communities and promoting sustainable development.
Responsibilities
The volunteer will conduct thorough research to identify grant opportunities relevant to the Southern Africa Embrace Foundation's mission and programs. This includes identifying grants that match the organization's eligibility criteria. Selected volunteers will be required to participate in bi-weekly check-ins to provide updates on research progress. A key deliverable is the creation of a detailed document listing all identified grants. For each grant, the document must include the grant name, the providing organization, the application deadline, the grant amount, required application criteria, and contact information. The role requires strong organizational skills to manage research processes and follow-up.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of experience in grant and proposal writing is required. Experience in research, interpreting, and analyzing diverse data is also necessary. The candidate should possess excellent writing and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
