Organizational Context
UNICEF's core mission is to uphold the rights of every child globally, focusing on equity for the most disadvantaged. In Mozambique, the Child Protection section aims to enhance the tracking of HACT processes, including Direct Cash Transfers and programmatic visits. Currently, fragmented data hinders consolidated grant monitoring. The section is developing a KPI tracking system and dashboard to streamline oversight, requiring support to structure and improve this initiative.
Job Purpose
This role supports UNICEF Mozambique's Child Protection section by developing a simplified system for tracking HACT-related processes and grant monitoring. The objective is to create a consolidated view of grant status, identify bottlenecks, and ensure timely follow-up. The volunteer will contribute to designing and implementing a KPIs tracking system and a visual dashboard. This initiative aims to improve the efficiency and clarity of financial, programmatic, and compliance oversight, enabling better decision-making and support for children's rights through more effective program delivery and resource management.
Responsibilities
The Online Volunteer will support the design and development of a simple KPIs tracking system and dashboard for UNICEF Mozambique's Child Protection section. Key responsibilities include reviewing and organizing existing data and tracking tools related to HACT processes (DCTs, FACE forms, PVs, audits). The volunteer will assist in defining a core set of KPIs, such as DCT status, FACE form issues, and audit actions, and identifying process stages and bottlenecks. A significant part of the role involves developing a user-friendly Excel tracking tool with grant-level overviews and KPI sheets, and creating a simple, visual dashboard in Excel or PowerPoint to highlight key metrics, delays, and risks. The volunteer will also contribute innovative ideas to enhance the tool's usability and clarity.
Work Experience
Required experience includes demonstrated ability in data organization, dashboard creation, or data analysis. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential. The candidate should possess the ability to simplify and structure information, show interest in practical problem-solving and process improvement, and exhibit creativity in proposing new ideas. Experience in development, humanitarian work, or the UN system is considered an asset but not mandatory.
Skills
Key skills include data organization, dashboard development, and data analysis. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
