Organizational Context

Camara Education Ethiopia, a registered NGO and partner of the Federal Ministry of Education, focuses on expanding inclusive digital learning in disadvantaged communities. Since 2011, they have worked to improve learning outcomes by providing technology-enabled education solutions. Currently, in partnership with UNICEF, Camara is implementing a project to develop digital and transferable skills for youth and educators across Ethiopia, aiming to establish digital learning hubs and enhance digital literacy.

Job Purpose

This assignment supports Camara Education Ethiopia's "Digital and Transferrable Skills Development project" by transforming raw data from school infrastructure and technology readiness assessments into actionable insights. The goal is to produce a comprehensive, print-ready report for stakeholders like UNICEF and the Ministry of Education. This will involve cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing data collected from 115 institutions to inform evidence-based planning, program prioritization, monitoring, and resource allocation, ultimately strengthening digital learning initiatives across Ethiopia.

Responsibilities

The role involves collaborating with a team of Online Volunteers (Data Analyst, Report Writer, Graphic Designer) to process school assessment data. Key responsibilities include reviewing and cleaning raw datasets (Excel/CSV/Google Sheets), identifying and resolving data inconsistencies, standardizing formats, and conducting descriptive and exploratory analysis. The volunteer will segment findings by relevant categories, produce clear charts and tables, and contribute to a structured analytical summary. Additionally, responsibilities include developing a comprehensive, stakeholder-friendly report with insights, findings, and recommendations, and designing a professional report layout with infographics, ensuring the final product is print-ready and aligned with branding guidelines.

Work Experience

Required experience includes strong proficiency in data analysis using tools like Excel and Python, experience with data cleaning and preprocessing, and the ability to create clear data visualizations. Proven experience in graphic design, document layout, and proficiency in Canva are also required. Familiarity with dashboard or data visualization tools is necessary. Experience working independently in a remote environment and strong communication and collaboration skills are essential.

Proficiency in Canva and graphic design/layout are essential. Familiarity with dashboard/visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Looker Studio) is required.
