The objective is to implement timely, evidence-based humanitarian responses, including nutritional screenings and immediate treatment, to prevent the worsening of acute malnutrition and support the recovery of vulnerable populations.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the WFP Guatemala Nutrition Associate, the Community Facilitation and Counseling Officer will participate in training on activity objectives, key messages (healthy eating, hygiene, family co-responsibility), and playful methodologies. Responsibilities include registering participants, assisting with activity setup and participant flow, and ensuring a respectful, inclusive, and safe environment. The role involves facilitating community fair stations, clearly explaining activities, and conveying key messages on healthy eating, hygiene practices, and family co-responsibility in nutrition and health. The officer will address basic family queries or refer them to technical staff, participate in feedback sessions, and prepare reports detailing activities, participant numbers, and outcomes.
Work Experience
No prior experience is required. However, one month of relevant experience in community or rural settings is desirable. Experience in nutrition training, particularly as a community nutrition counselor with WFP or similar organizations, is also preferred. Basic reading and writing skills are necessary.
