The Business and Human Rights (BHR) Agents of Change project specifically leverages youth and media to promote responsible business practices aligned with UN Guiding Principles. This initiative aims to empower young people as key actors in advocating for rights and embedding sustainability into future economic models.
Job Purpose
This Online Volunteer assignment supports the outreach strategy for the Youth-centered Dialogue on Business and Human Rights and the Environment in West Java. The role involves amplifying the dialogue's reach through digital channels, increasing awareness, encouraging youth participation, and highlighting key messages on environmental justice, responsible business conduct, and community well-being. Volunteers will contribute to the visibility of this EU-funded initiative, fostering a more rights-based and sustainable economy by engaging the next generation of leaders, workforce, and consumers.
Responsibilities
Online Volunteers will support a digital campaign for the Youth-centered Dialogue on Business and Human Rights and the Environment in West Java. Key duties include publishing two social media posts (pre-event and post-event) on personal Instagram accounts, using official hashtags and provided communication materials. Volunteers will develop personalized captions in English or Indonesian, based on provided templates and key messages. Following publication, they will record post views and engagement metrics in monitoring sheets. Participation in a mandatory orientation session is required. All activities will be conducted virtually.
Work Experience
Candidates should have experience in community engagement, campaigning, or advocating for social issues in Indonesia, particularly related to Business and Human Rights, sustainability, or responsible business conduct. Familiarity with social media analytics, tools, and channels is also beneficial. Experience communicating with younger audiences is desirable.
Skills
Required skills include excellent communication and writing abilities in Bahasa Indonesia, with a confident command of English being a strong asset. The ability to understand and communicate complex issues in a way that resonates with youth is essential. Familiarity with social media platforms, analytics, and campaign tools is also important. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to promoting human rights and sustainability.
