Job Purpose
This role seeks experienced individuals to serve as guest speakers in "Meet an Expert" webinars for young entrepreneurs. The webinars are designed to equip project leaders and their teams with strategies for developing and implementing successful organizational plans. Speakers will share their practical experiences, skills, and knowledge to guide the next generation of entrepreneurs. The assignment focuses on addressing the core needs of AAE members, which span financial support, capacity building, market development, and technology empowerment, recognizing the interconnectedness of these elements for business growth and transformation.
Responsibilities
Serve as a guest speaker in "Meet an Expert" webinars, sharing expertise with young entrepreneurs. Deliver insights on developing and implementing successful organizational strategies. Leverage extensive personal experience in starting and running a business to guide participants through the entrepreneurial process. Share practical skills, knowledge, and insights gained from working with startups or within the SME sector. Provide guidance on business mentoring and related areas. Actively contribute to fostering innovation and sustainable entrepreneurship among African SMEs. Engage with the audience to encourage active participation and learning.
Work Experience
Extensive experience in starting and successfully running a business is required. Experience working with startups or within the SME sector is essential. Background in business mentoring, holding relevant levels or titles, or having worked in the SME space for a significant period is also necessary. Willingness to share skills, knowledge, and expertise is crucial.
Skills
Strong understanding of the entrepreneurial process. Proven experience in business strategy development and implementation. Excellent communication and presentation skills for webinar delivery. Ability to share knowledge and mentor aspiring entrepreneurs. Proficiency in English (working knowledge required). Commitment to volunteerism and supporting the growth of African SMEs.
