Job Purpose
This assignment aims to enhance the visibility of the UNESCO Addis Ababa Liaison Office's work by supporting the creation of communication and visibility materials for outreach and dissemination. The volunteer will contribute to presenting information clearly, structurally, and visually appealingly, ensuring consistency with UNESCO's standards. This role supports the office's objective of implementing its program and budget at the country level and advocating for its mandate in advancing international cooperation and achieving Sustainable Development Goals.
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of a Programme Specialist, the volunteer will support the design of communication and visibility materials for the UNESCO Addis Ababa Liaison Office, adhering to UNESCO branding guidelines. Key duties include integrating feedback from team members to ensure consistency across all materials and supporting other related visibility assignments as needed. The role requires ensuring that all designed materials are clear, structured, visually appealing, and align with UNESCO's editorial, graphic, and visibility standards.
Work Experience
Professional experience in graphic design is required, with a focus on designing document layouts. In-depth knowledge of graphic design applications is essential. Experience in reviewing, editing, and producing high-quality reports and publications for UN or similar organizations is also required. Experience with tools like Canva, Adobe, or InDesign is preferred.
Skills
Proficiency in Canva is required. Strong coordination, research, analytical, and writing skills with demonstrated attention to detail are necessary. Excellent drafting and communication skills in English are essential. Knowledge of French is an asset.
