These CCAs are crucial for policy engagement, advocacy, and informing the next MSDCF cycle, strengthening UN support for national priorities and advancing SDGs through effective communication and partnership.
Job Purpose
This role focuses on the graphic design and professional layout of the Common Country Analysis (CCA) reports for Curaçao. The purpose is to transform technical documents into visually compelling, accessible, and publication-ready products that effectively support outreach, advocacy, and policy engagement. The design will enhance the clarity and accessibility of key findings for diverse stakeholders, influencing dialogue and decision-making. By elevating the quality and visual appeal of these flagship UN products, the assignment contributes to strengthening the UN's role as a knowledge partner, facilitating evidence-based planning, and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through improved communication and resource mobilization.
Responsibilities
The graphic designer will be responsible for the end-to-end design and layout of the Common Country Analysis (CCA) reports for Curaçao. This includes developing a coherent design system aligned with UN branding, ensuring enhanced readability, narrative flow, and visual hierarchy. The role involves integrating text, data visualizations, and infographics into a consistent layout that clearly communicates complex development insights to policymakers, development partners, and the public. Emphasis will be placed on clarity, chapter consistency, effective use of white space, and strategic presentation of key messages. The expert will convert manuscripts into high-quality digital and print-ready files, ensuring professional standards for dissemination and supporting policy dialogue, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement.
Work Experience
Demonstrated experience in editorial design, publication layout, and producing high-quality reports is required. A strong portfolio of work on long-form publications, ideally within development or international organizations, is essential. Familiarity with digital publishing formats and print production requirements is necessary. Experience with AI-assisted design tools is a plus.
Skills
Expertise in graphic design, editorial design, and publication layout. Strong understanding of visual hierarchy, typography, color theory, and data visualization. Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Ability to translate complex analytical content into clear, engaging, and accessible formats. Attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and effective communication skills are critical. Familiarity with UN branding guidelines is expected.
