Job Purpose

This enhancement is crucial for ensuring timely and adequate responses to public health emergencies, such as cholera outbreaks. Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the WHO Operations Officer in Angola, the UNV Supply Chain Specialist will provide expert advice on supply matters related to public health interventions and emergency response, particularly for cholera. This includes managing supply management tools and systems, proposing adapted supply chain strategies, and ensuring end-to-end follow-up of requisitions with a reliable tracking system. The specialist will train Ministry of Health logistics staff on warehouse management, procurement, and stock tracking using the IOTA-Logistimo platform. Key duties involve liaising with technical experts for needs identification, coordinating emergency supply responses with the Ministry of Health, designing KPIs to monitor supply operations, and providing regular reports. The role also encourages integrating the UNV mandate by promoting volunteerism and engaging with communities.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of experience at national and international levels in supply chain management or logistics, specifically within health emergency response, humanitarian operations, or related fields, is required. Desirable experience includes working with the WHO, UN system, health cluster partners, or recognized humanitarian/NGOs in outbreak or health emergency response. Strong organizational, managerial, problem-solving skills, and experience in multicultural environments are essential.
