Job Purpose
This role contributes to Ann Foundation's literacy project by developing an age-appropriate General English as a Foreign Language (EFL) curriculum for teenage learners (ages 13-18) at CEFR levels Pre-A1 to A2. The purpose is to adapt existing young learner materials into a comprehensive 50-page curriculum package over 12 weeks. The curriculum will be engaging, culturally inclusive, and suitable for online, low-resource environments, aligning with CEFR learning outcomes and including assessment strategies and tutor guidance to support student development.
Responsibilities
Develop a complete, age-appropriate General English as a Foreign Language (EFL) curriculum for CEFR levels Pre-A1 to A2 within a 12-week timeframe. Adapt Ann Foundation’s existing young learner curriculum (ages 3-10) for teenage learners (ages 13-18), revising approximately 5 pages per week to create a 50-page package. Ensure the revised curriculum aligns with CEFR learning outcomes, incorporating updated scope and sequence, age-appropriate themes, standardized lesson templates, and effective assessment strategies. Develop guidance for tutors. All content must be engaging, relevant to adolescents, culturally inclusive, and suitable for online and low-resource delivery. Success will be measured by timely completion, quality review, and stakeholder approval for pilot implementation.
Work Experience
Required: Experience in EFL curriculum design. Knowledge of developmental, learning, and behavioral differences between young learners (3-10) and teenagers (13-18). Ability to adapt existing learning materials like lesson plans and teaching guides. Recommended: Familiarity with CEFR standards.
Skills
Strong communication and writing skills in English. Ability to adapt learning materials. Knowledge of EFL curriculum design and CEFR standards is beneficial. Fluency in English is required.
