Design and Formatting of WHO STEPS Reports

Organizational Context

The World Health Organization (WHO) Fiji office is involved in non-communicable disease (NCD) surveillance through the WHO STEPwise approach to NCD risk factor surveillance (STEPS). This standardized method collects, analyzes, and disseminates data on key NCD risk factors. The initiative supports SDG Target 3.4 by providing reliable population health data for prevention and treatment efforts, aiming to reduce premature mortality from NCDs.

Job Purpose

This role supports the WHO Fiji office by designing and formatting reports that present the results of the STEP survey. The assignment focuses on professional layout and visual presentation of data related to NCD risk factors, including behavioral and biological indicators. The goal is to ensure the reports are well-designed for effective data dissemination and utilization. This contributes to strengthening population health data for SDG Target 3.4, promoting health and well-being by making complex survey findings accessible and impactful for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Provide professional layout and formatting for WHO STEP survey reports, ensuring a consistent visual identity across multiple documents. Tailor design elements, including graphs and charts, to accurately reflect the unique data and findings of each specific survey. Collaborate on the design of approximately 115-page reports, adapting overall design and visual elements for coherence while ensuring each report is distinct. This involves applying expertise in graphic design to enhance data visualization and presentation, making the reports effective for dissemination and use.

Work Experience

Requires professional experience in graphic design, specifically in designing document layouts. Must possess in-depth knowledge of graphic design applications. Good verbal and written communication skills are also necessary for effective collaboration and task completion.
