Project Management Intern
Organizational Context
The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is the operational arm of the UN for procurement, contract management, civil works, and physical infrastructure development. In Latin America and the Caribbean, UNOPS supports member states in achieving Agenda 2030 priorities, focusing on natural resources, cultural heritage, human capital, and reducing inequality. This role supports a specific cooperation agreement with Itaipu Binacional and UNILA for campus development.
Job Purpose
This internship offers a valuable opportunity to work within an interdisciplinary team, gaining exposure to engineers, architects, administrators, and international specialists. Under the guidance of the Senior GDI Assistant, the intern will support key project areas, ensuring high-quality work with precision and efficiency. The role provides practical experience in project support, document management, and stakeholder engagement, contributing to the professional development of the intern while advancing the objectives of the UNILA campus construction project.
Responsibilities
The intern will provide support for extension activities related to the UNILA campus construction. Key duties include assisting with activity organization and document management, such as information systematization and the preparation of documents and presentations. The role involves supporting the integration of gender equality, diversity, and inclusion (GDI) perspectives into project activities, and assisting in the implementation of policies for protection against sexual exploitation and abuse, and sexual harassment (PSEAH). Additionally, the intern will support partnership development for decent employment promotion, community engagement activities, and raising awareness on human rights issues among project staff and the community.
Work Experience
Desirable to have at least one experience related to the project's thematic areas (research, extension, or work). Experience supporting project proposals, manuals, and academic reports is valued. Preference will be given to undergraduate or postgraduate students from UNILA.
