Organizational Context

The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) Europe and Central Asia Regional Office (ECR) manages operations across 12 countries, including Uzbekistan. The Tashkent Project Office, established in 2023, focuses on supporting healthcare infrastructure and service delivery. This role is situated within this project office, contributing to critical health system strengthening initiatives.

Job Purpose

The Contract and Supply Chain Management Associate is responsible for overseeing and executing administrative processes within procurement, contract administration, and logistics for UNOPS projects in Uzbekistan. This role ensures the integrity, quality, and timeliness of all transactions, providing efficient and client-focused service delivery. The Associate will explain complex procedures to stakeholders, identify process improvements, and contribute to the successful implementation of healthcare infrastructure and service delivery projects by managing the supply chain effectively.

Responsibilities

The role involves providing comprehensive procurement support, including vendor registration, contract and purchase order creation, and drafting procurement documents. It requires generating reports, responding to queries, and conducting follow-up actions. In contract administration and logistics, responsibilities include maintaining monitoring tools, tracking shipments, and coordinating with suppliers and government offices for timely customs clearance and delivery of goods. The Associate will also manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of supplies, ensure asset security, and process invoices and communications for timely payment and follow-up. Additionally, the role supports knowledge building and sharing within the team.

Work Experience

A minimum of five years of relevant experience in procurement and logistics support is required with a secondary education, or one year with a Bachelor's degree. Proficiency in computer office software and web-based management systems is essential. Experience with Uzbekistan Customs Authority, customs brokerage, or within UN system organizations is desirable.
