Job Purpose
The Project Management Support Senior Associate is crucial for ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of project operations by providing comprehensive technical, administrative, and logistical support. This role actively contributes to the coordination and execution of daily project management tasks, ensuring strict adherence to UNOPS standards and procedures. The position is designed to be client-focused and results-oriented, directly supporting the timely and successful implementation of projects within the region, particularly in challenging humanitarian contexts.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include supporting project monitoring and reporting by tracking implementation progress, financial performance, and compliance with UNOPS regulations. This involves preparing financial reports, maintaining project documentation, tracking budgets, and recording project data accurately. The role also provides essential support for project implementation and delivery, ensuring adherence to UNOPS methodologies, assisting with work plans, agreements, and budget revisions. Facilitating communication among partners and tracking project milestones, risks, and issues are also vital. Furthermore, the position offers operational and administrative support, including HR coordination, procurement planning, and logistical arrangements for workshops and missions. Financial and procurement management duties involve assisting with budget preparation, monitoring transactions, reconciling accounts, and coordinating procurement processes. Finally, the role contributes to knowledge building and sharing by supporting training sessions and participating in knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Work Experience
Required experience includes work in project management or related areas, with demonstrable proficiency in collaboration and productivity tools (e.g., MS Office, G-Suite) and web-based management systems. Experience in multicultural environments, UN system organizations, or in development/humanitarian contexts is desirable.
