Job Purpose
The Project Management Office (PMO) Officer provides essential operational, analytical, and administrative support to ensure the effective planning, implementation, and monitoring of projects. This role is crucial for managing project data, generating reports, facilitating procurement, and overseeing financial and logistical activities to ensure efficient project delivery. By collecting, validating, and analyzing project data, the officer provides insights that inform evidence-based decision-making and enhance project performance. The position also facilitates coordination among project teams, partners, and support units, ensuring timely activity execution and adherence to established procedures, and may involve field missions to support data collection and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include managing project data through collection, validation, analysis, and reporting, utilizing tools like Power BI for enhanced data visualization and quality control. The role supports project implementation by assisting with planning, budgeting, and execution, ensuring compliance with UNOPS procedures, and preparing project documentation. Operational support involves coordinating workshops, stakeholder consultations, and liaising with support units for procurement, contracting, and payments. Financial and administrative coordination includes monitoring budgets, processing transactions, and maintaining accurate financial records. Furthermore, the officer develops monitoring systems, contributes to strategic decision-making through data analysis, supports project evaluations, and aids in knowledge building by facilitating training and sharing lessons learned.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of relevant experience is required, specifically in supporting infrastructure projects with a focus on financial control, reporting, procurement processes, and general administrative-logistical support. Experience in generating complex reports and familiarity with UNOPS regulations are desirable.
