Job Purpose
The Site Manager (Ingénieur(e) agronome) will report to the Project Manager and be responsible for the overall planning, management, coordination, and monitoring of project activities in Bangui. This involves evaluating and managing project resources, preparing activity timelines in collaboration with MINUSCA DDR and implementing partners, and overseeing beneficiary registration, information sessions, and awareness campaigns. The role also includes conducting market studies for local procurement, identifying socio-economic reintegration opportunities, and advising partners on agronomic training. The Site Manager will lead field teams, manage procurement and delivery of materials, support vocational training, and ensure effective interface with local communities, beneficiaries, and MINUSCA DDR.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include ensuring the timely implementation of planned sector activities and maintaining high execution rates. The role involves organizing and supervising beneficiary registration, ensuring high participation in awareness and training activities, and maintaining beneficiary satisfaction through feedback mechanisms. Coordination with MINUSCA DDR and implementing partners through monthly meetings is crucial, as is resolving operational issues promptly and fostering effective working relationships with local authorities and communities. The Site Manager will conduct market and economic mapping studies, identify and pre-qualify implementing partners, and aim for a high rate of beneficiaries starting income-generating activities post-training. Logistics and procurement management, including timely delivery of materials and ensuring compliance with UNOPS procedures, are also key. Additionally, the role requires managing field teams, conducting weekly coordination meetings, ensuring performance evaluations, and maintaining a safe and collaborative work environment. Reporting activities accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with UNOPS procedures and security regulations, and closing audit recommendations are also essential.
Work Experience
A minimum of four years of experience in agro-industrial engineering or a related field is required for candidates with a Bachelor's degree. A minimum of three years of experience in project coordination or site management within emergency, transition, or development contexts is also required. Experience in a post-conflict setting at the field level is essential. Experience in Sub-Saharan Africa and in difficult/isolated duty stations is considered an asset.
