Organizational Context

The UNOPS Africa Regional Office manages over 250 projects in 40 countries, focusing on fragile settings and advancing national priorities in areas like Climate Action, Health, and Infrastructure. The North Africa Multi-Country Office (NAMCO), based in Tunis, oversees operations in Algeria, Egypt, Libya, and Morocco, supporting socio-economic development through diverse projects and partnerships. This role is integral to NAMCO's expanded mandate.

Job Purpose

The Partnerships Analyst, reporting to the Partnerships and Communication Team Lead, is responsible for supporting and advancing UNOPS' strategic positioning, project development, and resource mobilization efforts across North Africa and Indian Ocean SIDS. This role actively identifies and cultivates new business and partnership opportunities with a variety of stakeholders, including governments and donors. The incumbent plays a crucial part in developing project proposals, building relationships, and contributing to the overall resource mobilization pipeline, thereby enhancing UNOPS' impact and reach in the region. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying needs and aligning UNOPS' capabilities with partner priorities to foster socio-economic transformation.

Responsibilities

The Partnerships Analyst is responsible for identifying and assessing potential project and business opportunities aligned with UNOPS' mandate and strategic priorities. This includes analyzing development needs, government programs, and donor strategies to pinpoint areas for UNOPS engagement. The role involves leading the development of project proposals, concept notes, and other relevant documentation, coordinating with internal teams and external partners to define project requirements. A key function is cultivating and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of partners, including governments, UN entities, donors, and the private sector, to advance resource mobilization efforts. The analyst will prepare partner profiles, conduct opportunity assessments, and contribute to strategic planning by analyzing development trends and financing landscapes. Additionally, the role supports communication and knowledge management activities to enhance UNOPS' visibility and share best practices.

Work Experience

A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in partnership development, resource mobilization, or project development is required. Experience working directly with internal and external partners, including governments and international donors, and professional proposal writing skills are essential. Previous experience in North Africa is desirable.
