The RBM Partnership to End Malaria operates under this framework, aiming to accelerate malaria elimination through strengthened country leadership and partnerships.

Job Purpose

This role provides senior strategic and technical advisory support to advance sustainable solutions for malaria commodities. The purpose is to enhance global, regional, and national coordination, shape markets, improve country readiness, and foster localization and regionalization of manufacturing. By addressing market barriers and ensuring equitable access, the position contributes to accelerating the availability of essential malaria commodities, ultimately supporting countries and partners in their efforts to combat malaria and achieve elimination goals.

Responsibilities

The Senior Advisor will offer strategic advice on sustainable malaria commodity solutions, identifying opportunities and risks in market shaping, country readiness, and localization. Responsibilities include providing technical guidance for evidence-based decision-making and programme implementation. The role involves supporting market-shaping initiatives to address failures and threats, ensuring affordability and availability of commodities, and monitoring agreed actions. Additionally, the advisor will provide guidance on local and regional manufacturing, support coordination of initiatives, and strengthen regional supply chains. A key focus is enhancing country readiness for new and existing commodities by advising on policy, regulatory, financing, procurement, and supply chain requirements, and facilitating technical collaboration.

Work Experience

A minimum of 7 years of progressive professional experience in global health, health commodities, market shaping, pharmaceutical markets, supply chains, or country readiness is required. Demonstrated experience in providing strategic technical advice within international health programs, supporting complex multi-partner initiatives, and working with governments and international partners is essential. Familiarity with malaria commodity markets, country readiness, and localization efforts is also required.
