Organizational Context

Job Purpose
The Project Management Support Specialist is responsible for coordinating and supporting the effective planning, implementation, and monitoring of UNOPS projects. This role ensures project results are delivered within scope, time, cost, and quality parameters, while adhering to UNOPS policies and donor requirements. The specialist provides analytical and operational support, tracks project data, identifies risks, and collaborates with stakeholders to implement timely solutions. By ensuring projects meet their objectives and partner satisfaction, the role contributes to strengthening partner relationships and achieving UNOPS' operational goals in the region.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include supporting project planning, implementation, and monitoring to ensure timely delivery of outputs and adherence to standards. This involves managing progress against scope, time, cost, and quality, identifying and escalating risks, and overseeing contracts and supplier performance. The role also supports financial planning, budget utilization, and procurement processes, ensuring compliance and proper documentation. Stakeholder engagement is crucial, requiring the maintenance of effective relationships with donors, partners, and authorities, and facilitating internal coordination. The specialist will monitor project performance, prepare reports, conduct data analysis, and ensure quality assurance. Work Experience
Requires relevant experience in project management or related areas, and demonstrable proficiency in collaboration and productivity tools (e.g., MS Office, G-Suite) and web-based management systems. Experience in multicultural environments, UN system organizations, or in development/humanitarian contexts is desirable.
