The Global Portfolios Office (GPO) enhances UNOPS' strategic priorities and SDGs across over 130 countries by collaborating with governments, financial institutions, and UN agencies.

Job Purpose

The Partnership Senior Officer (Partnerships & New Business) is crucial for UN Global Pulse's growth, focusing on identifying, cultivating, and securing new funding and strategic partnerships, particularly within the Finnish and Nordic innovation ecosystem. This role involves prospect mapping, pipeline management, developing compelling proposals and donor materials, and coordinating UN Global Pulse's participation in key events. By fostering a collaborative fundraising culture and strengthening external relationships, the position enhances UN Global Pulse's positioning and resource acquisition capabilities, ultimately supporting the scaling of UN innovation efforts globally.

Responsibilities

The role supports new business development by conducting prospect mapping and maintaining a robust pipeline, including CRM entries and reporting. It involves drafting concept notes, proposals, and pitch decks, coordinating internal inputs for well-aligned submissions, and promoting ethical partnership practices. The position also aids in ecosystem engagement and event management, identifying visibility opportunities and supporting the design and delivery of donor-facing events. Furthermore, it contributes to internal coordination and communication, developing new business strategies, building internal relationships, and fostering a collaborative fundraising culture to ensure effective information sharing across hubs.

Work Experience

Required experience includes partnerships, donor relations, business development, and event management (planning and delivery). Experience in developing and implementing partnership and donor plans, including budget management, is also necessary. Desirable experience includes knowledge of the donor funding landscape, engaging with innovation ecosystems, and UN-contextual partnership strategies.
