Organizational Context
The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is seeking a Process Re-design Specialist (HR) for a maternity cover position. This role is part of the People and Change Group (PCG), reporting to the HR Innovation and Digitalization Lead. The specialist will leverage digital technologies to drive HR process redesign and innovation, contributing to UNOPS' digital transformation goals.
Job Purpose
The Process Re-design Specialist (HR) is tasked with leading the comprehensive analysis, redesign, and optimization of Human Resources processes at UNOPS. By integrating selected digital technologies, this role aims to significantly enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and innovative capacity of HR functions. The specialist will ensure that all re-engineered processes are strategically aligned with UNOPS' objectives and actively contribute to the successful digital transformation agenda outlined by the Process Innovation and Digitalisation Programme (PID), ultimately improving service delivery and organizational performance.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include conducting in-depth analysis of HR processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for optimization, and supporting leadership in reviewing policies in light of redesigned processes. The specialist will coordinate the integration of redesigned processes with digital technologies, collaborating with IT and vendors to meet practice requirements and ensuring business needs align with technical specifications. This role also involves documenting process improvements, preparing reports for stakeholders, and tracking the implementation of digital transformation initiatives. Furthermore, the specialist will engage with stakeholders to gather feedback, assist in developing communication and training materials for change management, and provide coaching to practitioners on optimized processes and new systems.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of progressive professional experience in HR policies, processes, tools, systems, analysis, or management is required. Experience in process re-engineering, recruitment, talent management in an international setting, and familiarity with digital technologies for process optimization are highly desirable. UNOPS HR experience is considered an advantage.
