Job Purpose
The Organization Design Specialist provides expert support in organization design, workforce planning, and job analysis/evaluation to advance UNOPS' strategic objectives. Collaborating with leaders and HR practitioners, the incumbent develops evidence-based organizational solutions. This role is crucial for enabling UNOPS to adapt its operating models and structures in response to evolving strategic priorities. The specialist will deliver complex analytical and technical assignments, ensuring that organizational designs are aligned with future needs and contribute to the effective delivery of sustainable development solutions.
Responsibilities
The role involves supporting end-to-end organization design reviews through diagnostic analysis of current and future states, including structures, operating models, and workforce data. Responsibilities include facilitating stakeholder consultations, developing organizational models, and improving design tools. The specialist will also contribute to strategic workforce planning by translating priorities into capability requirements and analyzing workforce composition. Additionally, the role includes preparing and reviewing job descriptions, participating in job classification panels, and managing multiple design assignments. Knowledge sharing through training and research is also a key function.
Work Experience
Required experience includes organizational diagnostics, design, operating model reviews, and restructuring initiatives. Experience with quantitative/qualitative analysis for strategic workforce planning, job design/analysis/evaluation, and utilizing emerging technologies like AI in HR analytics is essential. Experience in matrixed, multicultural organizations is also required. Experience in development/humanitarian contexts or UN system organizations is desirable.
