The Bank Reconciliation Assistant works collaboratively with local and HQ colleagues to ensure efficient and accurate financial operations.
Job Purpose
The Bank Reconciliation Assistant provides essential financial and administrative support to ensure the accuracy of financial transactions and the maintenance of proper financial records, adhering strictly to UNOPS financial rules and regulations. This role is critical for supporting daily financial operations and contributing to the overall efficiency of the finance unit. By ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and a client-focused service approach, the incumbent plays a key part in the smooth functioning of the finance department, facilitating effective financial management and reporting within the organization.
Responsibilities
The Bank Reconciliation Assistant is responsible for ensuring compliance of financial transactions and documentation with UNOPS rules, regulations, IPSAS, and SOPs, and assisting in maintaining internal control systems for data integrity. Key duties include reconciling UNOPS bank accounts and financial statements, identifying and resolving discrepancies, and preparing monthly Bank to Book (B2B) reports. The role involves managing adjustments for foreign exchange gains/losses, reconciling UNDP Service Clearance Accounts, and overseeing corporate prepaid and MasterCard reconciliations. Additionally, the assistant maintains digital filing systems, supports audit requests, and contributes to process improvements for efficient reconciliation, including leveraging systems like Kyriba for auto-matching.
Work Experience
Required experience includes work in project financial management, budgeting, cash management, and financial reporting, along with proficiency in collaboration tools (MS Office, G-Suite) and web-based management systems. Desirable experience includes working in multicultural environments, UN system organizations, developing countries, or with financial systems/ERP software.

Proficiency in Finance, Accounting, Financial Accounting Standards, Communication, and Collaborative Planning, Forecasting, and Replenishment.
