Job Purpose
The Programme Support Intern will assist the Accelerated Partnership for Renewables in Africa (APRA) Implementation Office by providing research, analytical, coordination, and communications support. This role is crucial for evidence-based programme delivery, enhancing stakeholder engagement, developing knowledge products, and executing operational activities that align with APRA's objectives. Assignments will be tailored to the intern's academic background and skills, offering a practical learning experience in international development and renewable energy within an African regional context.
Responsibilities
Conduct research, literature reviews, and data collection from credible sources to analyze quantitative and qualitative information, identifying trends, risks, and policy implications for reports and briefs. Support stakeholder mapping, research, and engagement by preparing correspondence and consultation materials. Draft, edit, and format communication products such as briefing notes, presentations, and web content. Assist in maintaining project repositories, databases, and contact lists. Help coordinate programmes and prepare for meetings, workshops, and events, including agendas, participant materials, and note-taking.
Work Experience
No prior professional experience is required. However, relevant academic, volunteer, or internship experience in research, data analysis, policy, international relations, communications, knowledge management, or programme support is desirable. Strong writing, organizational, and presentation skills are beneficial. Familiarity with standard office tools is expected, with analytical or communication tool proficiency being an asset.
