Organizational Context
The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) supports partners in delivering peacebuilding, humanitarian, and development projects globally. The Peace and Security Cluster (PSC) is a key service provider in mine action, working with UNMAS and other partners. This role sits within the PSC Jerusalem Project Unit, supporting UNMAS operations in the occupied Palestinian territory.
Job Purpose
The Information Management and Analytics Specialist will design, implement, and maintain complex information management systems and architecture for the UNMAS occupied Palestinian territory programme. This role is crucial for ensuring the effective collection, storage, analysis, and dissemination of critical data. By translating business requirements into technical solutions and providing expert advice and training, the specialist will enhance data-driven decision-making and reporting capabilities, directly contributing to the efficiency and impact of mine action operations.
Responsibilities
The Information Management and Analytics Specialist will support data collection and reporting for the UNMAS programme. Key duties include translating business requirements into technical specifications, managing and maintaining IM systems and architecture using platforms like Google Cloud Platform and ArcGIS Enterprise, and ensuring efficient implementation of digitized processes for data collection, storage, and analysis. The role involves coordinating with partners, developing technical documentation and training materials, and conducting capacity-building activities. Responsibilities also include collecting data requirements, ensuring data quality, developing analytical products for dashboards and applications, advising senior management, and managing IMS content in alignment with security protocols. Additionally, the specialist will explore innovative remote-sensing and AI solutions and facilitate the engagement and development of the supervised Information Management team.
Work Experience
Required experience includes designing and implementing complex IM systems (data architecture, enterprise architecture, processes, workflows), data management (modelling, database design, migrations, documentation), and managing ArcGIS Survey123 forms and workflows. Desired experience includes Python scripting, working with National Mine Action Centres, and knowledge of GESI or DEI in IM contexts.
