Job Purpose
The Project Management Support Associate supports the effective implementation of the ALERT - MEXAL6 project within UNODC Mexico. This role assists in planning, organizing, monitoring, and documenting project activities, ensuring alignment with UNODC standards, donor requirements, and project outcomes. The associate facilitates communication among stakeholders, supports timely delivery of outputs, and manages reporting processes. The project, supported by the Government of Canada, aims to enhance criminal investigations and intelligence efforts related to illicit synthetic drug manufacturing by improving the identification, seizure, and evidence collection during clandestine laboratory dismantling.
Responsibilities
The role involves comprehensive project monitoring and reporting, including tracking implementation progress, financial disbursements, and maintaining project documentation in systems like UMOJA. It requires supporting budget monitoring, expense tracking, and compiling information for budget reviews. The associate will also take meeting minutes, follow up on action points, and assist in preparing performance and closure reports. Key responsibilities include supporting project activity planning and execution, such as meetings, training, and workshops, and facilitating communication with partners, vendors, and internal units. The role also entails supporting operational and administrative tasks, including HR processes, procurement planning, logistical arrangements, and maintaining project correspondence and filing systems. Financial and procurement support includes assisting with budget inputs, tracking transactions, and supporting procurement processes and audits.
Work Experience
Required: Relevant experience supporting project management in security, justice, organized crime, drugs, or law enforcement. Experience in logistical planning and organization for events with diverse stakeholders. Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, G-Suite, or equivalent tools. Desirable: Experience with budget monitoring, documentation, reporting, and administrative support in project implementation. Experience in multicultural environments or UN system organizations.
