Job Purpose
The Information Management Officer (IMO) is crucial for sustaining and enhancing UNICEF's investments in the District Health Information System (DHIS2) and Health and Nutrition Information Systems in Balochistan, Pakistan. This role integrates data from various UNICEF-supported platforms, including the Child Friendly Community Initiative (CFCI), to prevent fragmented reporting and improve data quality. The primary objective is to ensure data-driven programming, facilitate real-time monitoring, maintain system integrity, and foster institutionalization within government systems, ultimately aligning with provincial development priorities and UNICEF indicators.
Responsibilities
The Information Management Officer will strengthen and sustain DHIS2 and integrated Health & Nutrition Information Systems by serving as the primary technical resource for their maintenance and institutionalization in Balochistan. This includes supporting data quality, completeness, timeliness, and utilization, and developing dashboards and automated reports for evidence-based decision-making. The role involves coordinating with UNICEF and government counterparts to ensure interoperability with other digital platforms and providing technical support for system optimization. Additionally, the officer will support data integration for CFCI and other UNICEF initiatives, developing consolidated reporting mechanisms and harmonizing indicators. Capacity building of provincial and district staff on DHIS2 data entry, reporting, and analysis is a key responsibility, alongside participating in relevant coordination forums and compiling analytical reports.
Work Experience
Required experience includes designing, implementing, maintaining, or managing DHIS2, Health Management Information Systems (HMIS), Nutrition Information Systems, or similar sectoral information systems. Proficiency in data management and visualization platforms such as Kobo, Appsheet, ArcGIS/QGIS, Power BI, Tableau, Microsoft Power Platform, or SQL is essential. Experience coordinating multi-stakeholder initiatives involving government, development partners, and implementing partners is also required.
