Job Purpose
The Project Management Support Officer is crucial for ensuring the effective planning, implementation, and monitoring of projects. This role provides essential operational, analytical, and administrative support, aligning project activities with UNOPS policies and partner requirements. Key contributions include managing project data, generating reports for informed decision-making, and facilitating coordination among project teams and support units. The officer ensures timely activity implementation and procedural compliance. Additionally, the role may involve field missions for data collection, training, and stakeholder engagement, thereby strengthening project systems and reporting capabilities to enhance overall project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.
Responsibilities
The role encompasses comprehensive data management, analysis, and reporting, including collecting, cleaning, and validating project data, developing databases and dashboards, and conducting statistical analysis to generate insights. It involves supporting project planning, budgeting, and execution, preparing project documentation, and coordinating workshops and stakeholder consultations. The officer will also manage procurement, financial, and administrative coordination, including monitoring budget utilization and processing financial transactions. Furthermore, the position requires developing and maintaining monitoring systems, contributing to strategic decision support through data analysis, and supporting knowledge building and sharing initiatives by facilitating training and participating in communities of practice.
Work Experience
Required experience includes work in project management or related fields, along with demonstrable proficiency in collaboration and productivity tools (e.g., MS Office, G-Suite) and web-based management systems. Experience working in multicultural environments or UN system organizations in a developing country, as well as experience in development or humanitarian contexts, is desirable.
