Job Purpose
The Senior Analyst, Project Management Office (PMO), directly contributes to project success by supporting the Head of PMO in implementing effective project management methodologies and strategies. This role aims to reduce project risks, control costs, and enhance success rates, thereby improving the overall maturity of project management within the EAPMCO. By strengthening project delivery and management capabilities, the incumbent helps reinforce UNOPS' reputation as a reliable service provider and a preferred partner for sustainable development initiatives in the region.
Responsibilities
The Senior Analyst will provide comprehensive project management support throughout the project lifecycle. Key duties include ensuring adherence to UNOPS policies and best practices during engagement development and project planning, establishing proper project governance, and assisting with realistic timeline creation. The role involves supporting project setup and closure activities, including coordinating implementation plans and guiding project teams. A significant focus is placed on monitoring and reporting, which includes reviewing project status against key performance indicators, developing tracking systems, analyzing delivery data, and preparing internal and external reports. Additionally, the incumbent will conduct quality assurance activities, identify and mitigate risks, facilitate knowledge management through lessons learned sessions, and manage project data to support informed decision-making.
Work Experience
Required experience includes work in Engineering, Construction, Construction Management, Project Management, Project Support, financial management, or Project Implementation Support. Proficiency in Google Suite applications and demonstrated experience with data analysis, management, reporting, and project management tools are essential. Experience within a PMO, project assurance, or managing projects in international development is desirable.
