Job Purpose
The Project Management Associate (Deputy Coordination) provides essential support to the CDESC project, focusing on planning, coordination, and execution of activities. This role is crucial for maintaining effective collaboration with stakeholders, facilitating smooth operations, and ensuring timely and efficient delivery of project outputs. By closely working with project leadership and partners, the associate contributes to achieving project objectives in line with established frameworks and internal processes, ensuring that all activities align with the project's results framework and UNOPS' operational standards.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include supporting senior project leaders in stakeholder engagement, needs assessments, and capacity-building program development. This involves contributing to budget preparation, procurement processes, and risk mitigation strategies. The role also entails assisting in the drafting of project agreements and budget revisions. For training and implementation, the associate will coordinate logistics for workshops and meetings, develop training materials, and liaise with service providers to ensure effective project execution. In monitoring and reporting, duties include developing tracking tools, collecting and archiving project documentation, contributing to report quality, and ensuring compliance with UNOPS and donor policies. Operational support covers coordinating procurement, travel, and inventory management, as well as assisting with HR-related project requirements and managing project documentation systems.
Work Experience
Required experience includes project management or related fields, and proficiency with collaboration tools (MS Office, G-Suite) and web-based management systems. Experience in multicultural environments, UN system organizations, or development/humanitarian contexts is desirable.
