Organizational Context

This role supports the CDESC project, which focuses on evidence-based studies and analyses of drug-related issues, promoting sustainable social and economic alternatives. The project integrates into national public security programs, particularly for vulnerable youth, emphasizing alternative development strategies.
Job Purpose
The Project Management Associate (Technical Advisory) provides substantive support to the CDESC project, assisting in planning, coordination, and execution of activities. This role is crucial for maintaining effective coordination with stakeholders, facilitating smooth operations, and ensuring timely and efficient delivery of project activities. The associate will work closely with senior technical leads and project managers to support capacity-building programs, manage project logistics, and contribute to monitoring and reporting efforts, ensuring alignment with project outcomes and UNOPS internal processes.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include supporting senior project leaders in stakeholder engagement, needs assessments, and capacity-building program development. The associate will assist in budget preparation, procurement processes, and risk identification. They will coordinate logistics for training sessions, workshops, and meetings, and support the development of training materials. Monitoring and reporting involve updating tracking tools, collecting and archiving documentation, and contributing to report quality assurance. Operational support includes coordinating procurement, travel, and inventory management, as well as assisting with HR-related project requirements and managing project documentation. Knowledge sharing involves supporting project management learning sessions and contributing to research and reporting on project-related topics.
Work Experience
Required experience includes project management or related areas, and proficiency in collaboration tools (e.g., MS Office, G-Suite) and web-based management systems. Desirable experience includes working in multicultural environments, UN system organizations, development or humanitarian contexts, and experience in administrative or knowledge management activities related to equal opportunity policies.
