This role sits within UNOPS's Sustainable Development Cluster, supporting UNODC's mandate through HR services.
Job Purpose
The Project Management Associate provides substantive support to the CDESC project, assisting in planning, coordination, and execution. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient operations and timely delivery of project activities in alignment with project objectives and internal processes. The associate will collaborate closely with stakeholders to maintain effective coordination, facilitate operations, and ensure activities are completed efficiently. This position contributes to the overall success of the project by supporting its operational and strategic goals, ensuring smooth implementation and effective stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include supporting senior project leaders in stakeholder engagement, training needs assessment, and capacity-building program development. The role involves contributing to budget preparation, procurement processes, and risk identification. Additionally, it entails coordinating logistics for training sessions, workshops, and meetings, and supporting the development of training materials. The associate will liaise with service providers and stakeholders to ensure effective project implementation and facilitate internal/external communications. Monitoring and reporting duties include developing and updating tracking tools, collecting and archiving project documentation, and contributing to report quality assurance. The role also supports operational and logistical needs, including procurement, travel, and inventory management, as well as HR-related project requirements and document management.
Work Experience
Required experience includes project management or related areas, proficiency in collaboration tools (MS Office, G-Suite), and experience in quantitative and/or qualitative research. Desirable experience includes public policy research, government program monitoring and evaluation, data analysis, and research in law and public policy related to drugs and public safety.
