Organizational Context

Job Purpose
The Project Management Associate (Data Technician) provides essential support for the planning, coordination, and execution of project activities under the CDESC Project. This role is crucial for maintaining effective coordination with stakeholders, facilitating smooth operations, and ensuring timely delivery of project activities. By collaborating closely with project teams and stakeholders, the associate contributes to the efficient implementation of project objectives and adherence to internal processes and project outcomes, ultimately supporting the project's mission.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include supporting senior technical leaders and project managers in stakeholder engagement, training needs assessment, and capacity-building program development. This involves contributing to budget preparation, procurement processes, and risk identification with mitigation measures. The role also assists in drafting project agreements and budget revisions. For training and implementation, the associate coordinates logistics for sessions, workshops, and meetings, and supports the development of training materials. They liaise with service providers and stakeholders to ensure effective project execution and facilitate internal/external communications. In monitoring and reporting, the associate develops and updates tracking tools, collects and archives project documentation, and contributes to report quality assurance. They track project milestones and ensure compliance with UNOPS policies. Operational support includes coordinating procurement, travel, and inventory management, as well as supporting HR-related project requirements and managing project documentation systems. Knowledge management involves supporting training sessions and participating in knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Work Experience
Required: Relevant experience in project management or related areas, proficiency in collaboration tools (MS Office, G-Suite), experience in international cooperation, and experience in quantitative research, data analysis, and indicator construction. Desirable experience includes research in drug policy, public security, indigenous territories, border areas, the Amazon, or peripheral territories with vulnerability factors, as well as multicultural environments or UN system organizations.
