Job Purpose
The Infrastructure Intern, specializing in Architecture or Civil Engineering, will support the team in reviewing projects and overseeing construction, ensuring adherence to the highest quality standards. This role involves assisting in the application of best practices in technical design and construction management throughout the project lifecycle, under technical guidance. The intern will also ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Social, and Environmental (HSSE) standards and Protection against Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (PSEAH) requirements. The position encourages the development of technical knowledge, organizational skills, and a collaborative approach, contributing to integrity, transparency, and stakeholder coordination in civil engineering activities.
Responsibilities
Under close supervision, the intern will provide support in developing, preparing, coordinating, and reviewing urban, architectural, and complementary projects. This includes assisting in the preparation and review of terms of reference, descriptive reports, specifications, tender documents, and technical manuals. The role involves supporting all stages of the tender process for project and/or construction contracts. Additionally, the intern will aid in identifying and recommending technical solutions for architecture and engineering, as well as solutions to ensure project quality, operations, facilities, and environmental conditions. Support will also be provided for organizing project and construction administrative routines, including schedules, meetings, project coordination, and internal process tracking, alongside accompanying engineering inspections.
Work Experience
Professional experience in applying basic principles and techniques of Architecture or Civil Engineering is valued. Experience supporting project proposals, manuals, and reports, as well as reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications, is beneficial. Knowledge or experience with professional tools like CAD (AutoCAD), BIM (Revit), GIS, MS Project, and Google Suite is considered an advantage.
