Job Purpose
The Associate Diversity and Inclusion Officer (GESI) provides technical and operational support to mainstream gender equality and social inclusion across UNOPS' project portfolio and office operations in Panama. This role is crucial for integrating GESI principles and mitigating Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEAH) risks. It involves technical data analysis, designing inclusive procurement processes, and supporting projects to strengthen the organization's standing as a leader in operational equity and social responsibility, ensuring positive and equitable impacts on communities.
Responsibilities
The role involves strategic implementation and coordination of Gender, Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (GESI) and PSEAH policies, supporting the development and execution of GESI plans at both office and project levels. Responsibilities include operational support for GESI activities, monitoring PSEAH policies at office and construction sites, and compiling incident reports. The position assists in reviewing documents for human rights, gender equality, diversity, and inclusion alignment, and provides logistical support for inter-agency coordination. Key duties also encompass data collection and analysis for GESI/GDI, risk assessment, maintaining regional dashboards, and monitoring project results from a GESI perspective. Furthermore, the role supports inclusive recruitment by reviewing tender terms, disseminating vacancies to diverse talent networks, and identifying strategic partnership opportunities for inclusion.
Work Experience
A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in Gender, Diversity, and Inclusion is required, or 2 years with a bachelor's degree. Experience should ideally contribute to project development and/or team training within the Panamanian context. Experience in facilitating socio-educational or community processes, inclusion of persons with disabilities, and working with international organizations is desirable.
