Job Purpose
The Communications Intern will support the Communications Officer in Guatemala by contributing to digital communication efforts, including social media content generation, graphic design, and audiovisual material creation. This role involves assisting in the drafting and editing of Spanish content for UNOPS social media platforms, ensuring brand guideline adherence. The intern will also help schedule posts, analyze social media performance, and generate reports with recommendations. Additionally, the position supports the creation of informative materials like infographics and brochures to promote UNOPS projects and capabilities, and assists with internal/external communication activities, event organization, and media monitoring.
Responsibilities
Support the Communications Officer in generating digital content and campaigns for UNOPS Spanish social media channels. Assist in creating and editing Spanish content for social media posts, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines. Help design graphics and audiovisual elements for social media and other channels, maintaining UNOPS visual identity. Aid in scheduling social media posts (Twitter, Facebook) about UNOPS projects in Latin America and the Caribbean. Measure social media performance, generating analysis reports and recommendations. Assist in developing proposals for informative graphic materials, such as infographics and brochures, to promote UNOPS projects. Support the creation of graphic and audiovisual materials for regional meetings and events. Collaborate on producing graphic and audiovisual content to disseminate key organizational messages. Assist in managing the communication dashboard. Provide support for internal and external communication processes and activities, including taking minutes for relevant meetings and contributing to event organization.
Work Experience
No prior work experience is required. Experience in internships or volunteer work is valued. Familiarity with design and/or audiovisual editing software such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, or After Effects is desirable. A portfolio of communication materials is required if previous experience is presented.
