The Southern Cone Multi-Country Office (SCMCO), based in Brazil, supports national priorities across Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay. This role supports the National Fund for Educational Development (FNDE) in Brazil, focusing on improving basic education infrastructure.
Job Purpose
This role aims to recruit two Project Management Support Analysts, specializing in School Architecture, to support the UNOPS Technical Cooperation Project focused on strengthening educational infrastructure for traditional peoples in Brazil. The analysts will assist the National Works Specialist and Coordinating Engineer in achieving project outcomes related to the assessment and completion of school physical infrastructure. This involves analyzing the current status of facilities and ensuring they meet national and UNOPS requirements, contributing to the overall goal of providing quality education infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the National Construction Management Specialist, the Project Management Support Analysts will attend technical meetings, assist in preparing project requirements for tendering, and compile diagnostic items and technical guidelines for abandoned school projects. They will analyze sanitation infrastructure designs, prepare technical reports on various infrastructure projects, and formulate guidelines for architectural projects and construction works, including quality control. The role involves applying advanced engineering techniques, providing technical guidance, preparing progress reports, and actively contributing to the updating of technical project documents. Collaboration with other specialists and the operational team is essential, including supporting tendering and contracting processes, preparing presentations, and drafting meeting minutes. Site visits to schools and communities will also be required.
Work Experience
Two years of progressive experience in school infrastructure projects is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace is necessary, along with advanced knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software. Experience in public sector projects or with UN system/international organizations is desirable.
