Job Purpose
The Warehouse Clerk, under the direct supervision of the Admin/Logistics Associate, is responsible for managing and ensuring the efficient provision of logistic and warehouse support services. This role is critical for maintaining compliance with UNOPS asset management policies, procedures, and internal control requirements. The incumbent will foster a quality and results-oriented approach, ensuring the optimal and cost-effective use of office resources. This position directly contributes to the timely and effective delivery of humanitarian and development projects by ensuring that supplies and assets are managed efficiently and securely within the warehouse operations.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include managing warehouse operations and inventory. This involves verifying incoming goods against purchase orders, supporting the unloading, storage, stacking, labeling, and preservation of items, and maintaining orderly, clean, and secure warehouse facilities. The role requires maintaining updated inventory records, conducting physical stock counts, monitoring stock levels, and identifying replenishment needs. Additionally, the Warehouse Clerk will process and document all warehouse transactions for audit purposes. Support for logistics and asset management includes assisting with the movement, storage, and distribution of goods, as well as the registration, tagging, tracking, and management of project assets. This also involves supporting physical verification exercises, maintaining asset movement records, and assisting with internal and external audits. The role also includes contributing to knowledge sharing on logistics and warehouse-related subjects.
Work Experience
A minimum of four years of relevant experience in warehouse management, logistics, or administration is required with a Secondary School Diploma. This requirement is reduced for candidates with higher education. Experience with computer and Google Workspace packages is desired, as is some experience within UN system organizations.
