Job Purpose
The Information Management and Analytics Associate is responsible for supporting the analysis, processing, and interpretation of data related to infrastructure projects, procurement, and service contracts executed by the office. This role is crucial for generating reports, monitoring indicators, analyzing performance, and developing strategic information for decision-making. By identifying trends and patterns using statistical methods and machine learning, the associate enhances data quality, consistency, and availability. The position also involves improving data analysis processes, creating data collection systems, and documenting methodologies to ensure the integrity and responsible use of managed information, ultimately contributing to informed decision-making.
Responsibilities
The Information Management and Analytics Associate will focus on improving and optimizing data processing by identifying opportunities for enhancement and implementing strategies for data collection and analysis to boost statistical efficiency and quality. This includes developing and implementing various analytical, reporting, and quality control capabilities. The role involves identifying appropriate data sources and collaborating with data engineers and scientists to refine data flows and quality. A key responsibility is analyzing data to identify trends and patterns using statistical and machine learning techniques, and documenting the methodology and context for these analyses. Furthermore, the associate will provide advice on data utilization for decision-making, explore innovative data products, and contribute to knowledge sharing through training and participation in communities of practice.
Work Experience
Required: Experience in data science, data analysis, applied analytics, business intelligence, statistics, or project management. Proficiency with self-service analytics applications and data visualization tools (e.g., MS Power, Qlik, Tableau) or business intelligence tools (e.g., SAP Business Objects). Desirable: Experience in multicultural environments, UN system organizations, developing countries, humanitarian contexts, version control tools (Git), databases, or programming languages (SQL, Python, R).
