Job Purpose
The Supply Chain Management Specialist is crucial for managing, sustaining, and enhancing key supply chain information systems, particularly the Umoja ERP system. This role provides specialized business and technical support to ensure the efficient operation of supply chain processes. By analyzing requirements and implementing system changes, the specialist contributes to the continuous improvement of supply chain functionalities, ensuring they align with organizational needs and support global operations effectively. The position plays a vital part in maintaining system integrity and optimizing performance across the UN Secretariat.
Responsibilities
The Supply Chain Management Specialist provides expert advice and operational support for Umoja supply chain processes, translating business requirements into system configurations and enhancements. Responsibilities include maintaining and upgrading existing systems, troubleshooting issues, and providing ongoing user support. The role involves organizing and conducting unit and integrated testing, assisting with user acceptance testing, and facilitating communication between the supply chain functional subgroup and client entities. Key duties also encompass managing projects related to system analysis, design, and development, creating detailed system specifications and user documentation, and developing training materials. Furthermore, the specialist develops and implements change management and knowledge transfer plans, researches new technologies, and participates in system-related analysis and reporting.
Work Experience
Requires experience in planning, designing, developing, and testing ERP systems for supply chain or logistics modules. Experience as a Functional Expert in SAP, focusing on business process analysis, improvement, and change management for logistics and inventory systems is essential. Experience with Business Requirement Documents (BR) using Solution Manager (SolMan) SAP and providing post-implementation support for Umoja or similar SAP systems is also necessary.
