Organizational Context
The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) works with states and civil society to prevent drugs and crime from threatening security, peace, and development. The Alternative Development Program supports families and communities affected by illicit crops, aiming to strengthen their productive and commercial capacities through legal alternatives. This role supports the program's implementation.
Job Purpose
The Commercial Assistant will support the Alternative Development Program by providing logistical, administrative, and documentary assistance for commercial and productive activities. This includes organizing meetings with beneficiaries, partners, and regional entities, managing documentation for training programs, updating databases, and supporting the procurement of necessary materials. The role aims to facilitate the program's operational efficiency and strengthen the commercial capabilities of participating communities and beneficiaries, contributing to their sustainable development and the reduction of illicit crop cultivation.
Responsibilities
Provide logistical support for strategic alliances and coordination by tracking meetings and maintaining communication with regional offices and project stakeholders. Support community and beneficiary relations by scheduling meetings, disseminating information, reporting on progress, and organizing documentation for training programs. Assist with documentary tasks for planning and commercial development, including updating client databases and supporting visit plans. Manage administrative and financial support by organizing documentation for Memoranda of Agreement and terms of reference for procurement. Provide logistical support for events, socialization activities, and field missions, ensuring adherence to UN protocols.
Work Experience
Required: Experience in logistical, documentary, and administrative support for commercialization processes, preferably in agricultural products. Desirable: Knowledge of agricultural production systems, experience with vulnerable communities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
