Job Purpose
The Infrastructure Intern will work under the general guidance and direct supervision of the Senior Civil Engineering Associate. This role offers an opportunity to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of engineers, architects, administrators, and international relations specialists. The intern will gain exposure to external stakeholders relevant to project development and professional growth. The position is based in Porto Alegre, Brazil, and involves periodic site visits, requiring a driver's license and the ability to travel to different project locations, including construction sites and with contractors.
Responsibilities
The Infrastructure Intern will provide support to the Project Manager and technical team. Key duties include assisting in the development, preparation, and review of urban planning, architectural, and complementary projects. The intern will also support the drafting and revision of terms of reference, technical specifications, bidding documents, and engineering/architecture manuals. Responsibilities extend to supporting all stages of the procurement process for projects and works, identifying and recommending technical solutions through reports and studies, and ensuring project quality, operations, and environmental conditions. Additionally, the intern will assist in organizing project and site routines, including schedules, meetings, and internal process tracking, and will accompany engineering inspections of systems, structures, and facilities.
Work Experience
Desired experience includes applying basic principles and techniques in Architecture or Civil Engineering, supporting project proposals, manuals, and reports, and reading/interpreting technical drawings and specifications. Familiarity with professional tools like CAD (AutoCAD), BIM (Revit), GIS, MS Project, and Google Suite is considered a plus.
