Job Purpose
The STEM Trainee will support SEforALL's energy access initiatives in Nigeria, focusing on technical project assistance, data analysis for energy planning, and operationalizing renewable energy financing mechanisms. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience at the intersection of sustainable energy, finance, and policy. The trainee will contribute to gender- and youth-responsive energy activities, gain insights into climate finance trends, and support the development of financial models. The program aims to build the technical expertise and soft skills necessary for a successful career in the global energy sector, with a specific emphasis on empowering women and youth.
Responsibilities
The STEM Trainee will provide technical support for gender- and youth-responsive energy activities, assist in coordinating project initiatives, and participate in energy audits and needs assessments. Responsibilities include supporting the Sustainable Energy Finance Developers Platform by refining data entries, developing training materials for developers and policymakers, and assisting in the creation of financial models by analyzing cost structures and capital types. The role involves tracking financing commitments and emerging funding mechanisms within the clean energy ecosystem. Additionally, the trainee will support data collection, market research on climate finance, and platform performance tracking for reporting. Engagement in initiatives promoting sustainable energy finance, policy advocacy, and stakeholder engagement is expected. The trainee will also create and publish digital content for social media to promote project visibility and sustainability practices.
Work Experience
No prior work experience is required. However, previous experience in energy, engineering, finance, communications, or related fields is considered an advantage.
