Job Purpose
This HR Intern role is designed for a motivated individual keen on gaining experience in human resources, organizational culture, gender equality, safeguarding, and inclusion. The intern will support the implementation and coordination of key people and culture initiatives, with a specific focus on the UNOPS Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Strategy, Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (PSEAH) initiatives, and Gender Action Plans. The position offers a valuable opportunity to contribute to advancing organizational culture, employee engagement, and learning initiatives within a dynamic international development context.
Responsibilities
The HR Intern will support the implementation and monitoring of the ESAMCO DEI Strategy Action Plan and assist with PSEAH, Gender, and DEI working groups. Responsibilities include supporting awareness campaigns, engagement activities, workshops, and learning initiatives related to inclusion, safeguarding, and gender equality. The intern will also assist in tracking action plans from surveys, coordinating data collection, reporting, documentation, and communication. Additional duties involve checking Terms of Reference (ToRs) for quality and grammar, conducting reference checks, ensuring completion of mandatory courses, processing HR reports, and following up on contract extensions and budget lines. The role also includes liaising with recruitment agencies, providing logistical assistance for events, and maintaining personnel and training records.
Work Experience
No prior work experience is strictly required for this internship. However, some experience in gender development, human resources, organizational culture, gender equality, safeguarding, inclusion, or related fields would be considered an asset.
