Job Purpose
The Architectural Engineering Technician - Analyst (Design Review Coordinator) is responsible for ensuring the technical quality and adherence of engineering and architectural projects to requirements, schedules, budgets, and standards. This role involves applying best practices in project management, engineering, and design, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with HSSE, risk management, sustainability, and PSEAH requirements. The incumbent will facilitate effective technical review, quality control, and document management processes, providing strategic technical guidance and supporting decision-making to ensure project efficiency, constructability, and successful implementation.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and supervising the development, integration, and review of engineering and architectural projects from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with project requirements, schedules, budgets, and UNOPS guidelines. This involves coordinating technical review processes, multidisciplinary compatibility, and quality control to ensure consistency, technical integrity, and constructability. The role supports project managers and technical teams, monitors consultant performance, and contributes to technical documentation such as specifications, BoQs, and cost estimates. Ensuring compliance with HSSE policies, environmental and social safeguards, and PSEAH standards is critical. The position also involves maintaining accurate technical records, supporting the preparation of reports, monitoring change controls and risks, and contributing to knowledge development and sharing through training and best practice dissemination.
Work Experience
Required experience includes a minimum of 2 years in project coordination and implementation, leading technical teams in civil engineering or architecture sectors, and 2 years in construction technology, supervision, or works monitoring. Experience in multicultural environments, the UN system, or development/humanitarian contexts is desirable.
