The UNOPS Middle East Region supports operations across several countries, focusing on delivering sustainable solutions to complex development, peace, and humanitarian challenges. The Yemen Country Office specifically aids partners in restoring essential infrastructure and public services amidst a protracted crisis, contributing to peacebuilding and sustainable development efforts through integrated interventions.
Job Purpose
This role is designed to support the development and implementation of stakeholder engagement strategies for the YEEAP II project. The primary objective is to facilitate effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders, ensuring the project's responsiveness to local needs and priorities. By mapping key stakeholders, cultivating partnerships, and establishing regular consultation mechanisms, the position contributes to the successful execution of the project's goals in advancing renewable energy solutions and climate resilience in Yemen.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include supporting community outreach and engagement activities to promote solar energy benefits, maintaining communication with local leaders for project access, and establishing feedback mechanisms through surveys and workshops. The role involves assisting in organizing gender-sensitive consultations, documenting community feedback, and coordinating with local authorities and institutions. Additionally, it requires assisting in stakeholder mapping, developing engagement plans aligned with international standards, and supporting the documentation of strategic partnerships. The position also entails supporting awareness campaigns, organizing events, facilitating knowledge management by documenting lessons learned, and collaborating with communication teams for visibility. Operational support includes coordinating logistics for training and workshops, maintaining records, and ensuring adherence to safety and gender-mainstreaming guidelines.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of progressive professional experience in community and stakeholder engagement or partnerships development is required. Proficiency in collaboration tools and web-based management systems is necessary, along with strong knowledge of the Yemen context. Experience in multicultural environments or UN system organizations is desirable.
