Job Purpose
The Development Finance Specialist will support UNICEF's Digital Inclusion team in mobilizing capital for global internet connectivity projects for schools and health centers. This role focuses on identifying sustainable investment pathways and supporting country offices and government partners in preparing bankable projects. The specialist will collaborate with development finance institutions, private investors, and public donors, contributing to financing analysis, project preparation, and stakeholder coordination to develop scalable connectivity solutions that benefit children and communities.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include conducting financial analysis on instruments and market trends, developing investment cases and briefing materials, and identifying innovative financing solutions. The role involves supporting resource mobilization, maintaining funding trackers, and analyzing funding flows from various partners. Additionally, the specialist will contribute to developing a pipeline of connectivity projects, preparing business cases and investment documentation, and providing analytical support to country offices on financing strategies. Market analysis for DI financing products and knowledge sharing through reports and presentations are also key duties.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in finance, financial advisory, investment, or strategy consulting. Experience in development finance, infrastructure, sustainable investments, and working with public/private stakeholders is essential. Demonstrated ability in financial analysis, business case development, and proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel are necessary.
